The in-house executive programm “European Management School” for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP was launched back in 2007. Freshfields was the first law firm to integrate the targeted promotion of entrepreneurial skills into its internal training program. Following the extremely positive response from participating associates, around 30 principal associates from all over the world now complete the eight-day intensive training program on corporate management every year. The special concept of the program is designed to promote business understanding and provide in-depth insights into corporate management. In 2009, the law firm was awarded first place in the “azur 100 – Top Employers for Lawyers 2009” ranking by industry publisher Juve. The jury cited career advancement as a particular plus point. In particular, the concept also includes the awarding of ECTS credits, which allows students to continue their studies at the University of St. Gallen on an individual basis.
